We left at 7:45 AM and arrived at Arusha National Park around 8:30 AM, just a few kilometers from USA River. The park, covering 542 km\u00b2, features Mount Meru\u2019s peaks, craters, grasslands, and the alkaline Momela Lake.<\/p>\n<p>Here, you\u2019ll find ibises, flamingos, and many other birds\u2014around 400 species in total. The park is also home to zebras, giraffes, elephants, Cape buffalo, warthogs, colobus monkeys, baboons, meerkats, and gazelles. Near the entrance, there\u2019s a stone elephant popular for tourist photos.<\/p>\n<p>Our guide was incredible\u2014born near Kilimanjaro and living in Arusha, he knows the park and its wildlife inside out. We even caught a rare glimpse of Kilimanjaro\u2019s peak, often hidden, as locals say, &#8220;Kilimanjaro is shy.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The scenery felt straight out of *The Lion King*, complete with locals calling warthogs &#8220;Pumbas&#8221; and saying &#8220;Hakuna Matata.&#8221; The park\u2019s \u201cLittle Serengeti\u201d teems with gazelles, zebras, giraffes, and warthogs. Forested areas house baboons, blue monkeys, and colobus monkeys.<\/p>\n<p>We also learned about the Benjamin Tree, which envelops other trees like living art, and spotted iconic acacias where giraffes graze. Wir sind um 07:45 Uhr losgefahren und kamen gegen 08:30 Uhr im Arusha-Nationalpark an, nur wenige Kilometer vom USA River entfernt. Der Park, der 542 km\\u00b2 umfasst, bietet die Gipfel und Krater des Mount Meru, Graslandschaften und den alkalischen Momela-See.<\\\/p>\\n\n\n<p>Hier gibt es Ibisse, Flamingos und viele andere V\\u00f6gel\\u2014insgesamt etwa 400 Arten. Der Park beherbergt auch Zebras, Giraffen, Elefanten, Kaffernb\\u00fcffel, Warzenschweine, Colobusaffen, Paviane, Erdm\\u00e4nnchen und Gazellen. Nahe dem Eingang steht ein steinerner Elefant, ein beliebtes Fotomotiv f\\u00fcr Touristen.<\\\/p>\\n\n\n<p>Unser Guide war unglaublich\\u2014geboren in der N\\u00e4he des Kilimandscharo und wohnhaft in Arusha, kennt er den Park und seine Tierwelt in- und auswendig. Wir hatten sogar das Gl\\u00fcck, einen seltenen Blick auf den Gipfel des Kilimandscharo zu erhaschen, der oft verborgen bleibt. Wie die Einheimischen sagen: \\u201eDer Kilimandscharo ist sch\\u00fcchtern.\\u201c<\\\/p>\\n\n\n<p>Die Landschaft wirkte wie direkt aus <em>Der K\\u00f6nig der L\\u00f6wen<\\\/em>, komplett mit Einheimischen, die Warzenschweine \\u201ePumbas\\u201c nennen und \\u201eHakuna Matata\\u201c sagen. Die \\u201eKleine Serengeti\\u201c des Parks ist voller Gazellen, Zebras, Giraffen und Warzenschweine. In den bewaldeten Gebieten leben Paviane, Blaumeerkatzen und Colobusaffen.<\\\/p>\\n\n\n<p>Wir erfuhren auch mehr \\u00fcber den Benjaminbaum, der andere B\\u00e4ume wie ein lebendiges Kunstwerk umschlingt, und entdeckten ikonische Akazien, an denen Giraffen fressen. Beim Verlassen des Parks sahen wir frische Elefantenspuren und einen m\\u00fcrrischen Bullen, der sich im Geb\\u00fcsch versteckte, w\\u00e4hrend wir ein nahes Weibchen auf Video festhalten konnten.<\\\/p>\\n\n\n<p>Ein perfekter erster Safari-Tag\\u2014das Abenteuer hat begonnen!<\\\/p>\",\"content_nl_nl\":\"\n\n<p>Wat een geweldige dag! Het park, dat 542 km\\u00b2 beslaat, bevat de pieken en kraters van de Mount Meru, graslanden en het alkalische Momela-meer.<\\\/p>\\n\n\n<p>Hier vind je ibissen, flamingo\\u2019s en veel andere vogels\\u2014ongeveer 400 soorten in totaal. Het park is ook de thuisbasis van zebra\\u2019s, giraffen, olifanten, Kaapse buffels, wrattenzwijnen, colobusapen, bavianen, stokstaartjes en gazellen. Dicht bij de ingang staat een stenen olifant die populair is voor toeristische foto's.<\\\/p>\\n\n\n<p>Onze gids was geweldig\\u2014geboren in de buurt van de Kilimanjaro en woonachtig in Arusha, kent hij het park en zijn dieren als geen ander. We kregen zelfs een zeldzame glimp van de top van de Kilimanjaro te zien, die vaak verborgen blijft. Zoals de lokale bevolking zegt: \\\"Kilimanjaro is verlegen.\\\"<\\\/p>\\n\n\n<p>Het landschap voelde alsof we in <em>The Lion King<\\\/em> waren beland, compleet met locals die wrattenzwijnen \\\"Pumba\\u2019s\\\" noemen en \\\"Hakuna Matata\\\" zeggen. De \\\"Kleine Serengeti\\\" van het park wemelt van de gazellen, zebra\\u2019s, giraffen en wrattenzwijnen. In de beboste gebieden leven bavianen, blauwe meerkatten en colobusapen.<\\\/p>\\n\n\n<p>We leerden ook over de Benjaminsboom, die andere bomen als levende kunstwerken omhult, en we zagen iconische acacia\\u2019s waar giraffen van grazen.
